Time flu

After several weeks of steady runs, I finally hit a wall.  This wasn't the mental wall I had been expecting.  This wasn't even a Rheumatoid Arthritis wall I had feared.  This was a good old fashioned stomach-flu/virus wall that whacked me during some of the most critical weeks of the training team.

After a short trip to Central Florida, I awoke to the miserable sweaty nauseous feeling that I equated to getting the stomach bug in the 7th grade.  As we get older, our bodies tend to be able to avoid or defeat it....but no, not this time.  For the first time in many years, I was down for the count.

I spent days...yes, days, tied to the restroom.  Finally, after five days I took a visit to the ER for a bag of fluids and meds for nausea.

Thus, tomorrow, after about seven days of no running, I attempt to get back on the bandwagon with only two weeks of training runs remaining before the 10K.   Tomorrow, I will do my best to complete six miles.  Post run, I will make an update to let you know how/if it went.   Wish me luck.

Have a great weekend everyone.
